Website: Please note that our website hosts all positions located at the project site for with JGC Fluor and our subcontractors. Our website is www.jfjvkitimat.com and you can learn more about the project and download our PDF Fact Sheets on Employment, Trades and Women in Trades on the bottom of the main page. There is also a feedback line available for those who may have other questions or concerns.
Weekly Top Jobs: This highlights any new positions within the week and are all on our website based on the project or subcontractors needs.
Work rotation: The typical work rotation for those not residing in Kitimat or Terrace is 14/7- 10 hr days however this is dependent on the job. Some shifts are 11-12 hrs and there are night shifts available in some cases. All non local workers would be required to stay in the Lodging provided by the project which is currently the Civeo Sitka lodge or Horizon North Crossroads Lodge. Our Cedar Valley Lodge will open with the first available rooms in approximately Q2.
Transportation: Kitimat and Terrace locals are required to use the project provided Park and Ride service from the Terrace airport, Kitimat Save-on or Kitimaat Village which runs daily on a very broad schedule starting at 5:15 am and returning as late as 9pm. Dependent on the position there are options for travel from Prince Rupert but must be discussed with the individual employer.
Self Identification: We encourage all applicants to self identify as a Gitga’at member which allows them the benefit of getting noticed first in the application process, where qualified. Each company hiring is required to have this in their hiring process but we suggest noting your are local or Gitga’at on your resume/cover letter. I am happy to discuss this and more with anyone in person or on the telephone as this preferential hiring process is meant to aid in the success from a job to a career.
Unsuccessful applicants: Finally- all applicants who may be unsuccessful are offered the chance for feedback.
JGC Fluor Team: Our team sits in our Project Resource Centre in Kitimat City Centre Mall and we have a local employment coordinator, Jean Ryan who is available M-F 8:30-4:30 and can be reached at 778-659-7226, Jean.Ryan@fluor.com.
