Since early 2017, Gitga’at’s development corporation has progressed from a great idea into a busy economic development platform for Gitga’at First Nation. The Gitga’at Development Corporation (GDC) owns commercial property, owns and operates a great little laundromat in Prince Rupert, operates a forestry company (Gitga’at Forestry Inc.), and is active in the marine cartage business (Gitga’at Transporter).

In addition to our 100% owned businesses, GDC has also been fortunate in attracting a curated suite of joint venture partnerships (JV). Each of our JVs is the result of an investment of time and discussion to ensure that the JV has shared interests, objectives, and values. Building from this foundation, all our JV partners have proven experience, reputation, competency, safety record, the scope of services, size, and strong financial performance.

Through our JV partnerships, Gitga’at Development Corporation and our 100%-owned subsidiary, Gitga’at Management LP, are able to provide project owners with services ranging from electrical and instrumentation to site dewatering, water treatment, and filtration; from bulk material storage, transload, and handling to fuel supply, marine services, and freight services.
